The Insurance Center of Durham was created in 1979 when Glymph-Phillips (founded in 1948) and the Miller Insurance Agency (founded in 1957) merged to form one agency.
Because of expansion, and growth through the purchase of smaller agencies, we have become one of the largest agencies in the Durham area. We represent a substantial number of major companies and provide all forms of personal and commercial insurance.
We have a staff of licensed professionals and take pride in the personal service that we offer to all our clients. |

|
H. Lynn Crayton, CIC, is the owner and president of Insurance Center of Durham. He has been with the agency for thirty-four years.
Lynn began his insurance career with the Life Insurance Company of Georgia and joined the Miller Agency in 1972 prior to its merger with Glymph-Phillips.
He has forty-three years experience in the insurance industry. Lynn is past president of the Bull City Lions Club and is an active member of the Durham Chamber of Commerce. |

John L. Black, CIC, is past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Durham and is currently an active member of the Greater Durham Exchange Club. He has also served as a member of the NC National Guard.
John began his insurance career with the Insurance Company of North America – Cigna, where he worked for ten years.
John has forty-five years experience in the insurance industry and has been with The Insurance Center of Durham for fifteen years. |

|
Philip Wolf, CSA, CLTC, attended North Central Michigan College and served in the Michigan National Guard. He has ten years of experience in the insurance industry and is a new and vital member of the Insurance Center of Durham team. His specialty is protecting the assets of seniors who want to live a longer, healthier life.
Phil is past president, Board of Directors for Triangle Day School and currently serves on several committees for the Judea Reform Congregation. Phil is married and has two children. |

| Jack Sherron, CPCU, is a graduate of NC State and a former NC National Guardsman. He has been involved in insurance since 1970 and became VP of the Eaves Insurance Agency in 1972. Jack has been a vital part of the Insurance Center of Durham since 1982. |

Rusty Scarborough, CLU, RHU, CSA, is a Viet Nam veteran who began his insurance career in 1975 with MetLife. He has a broad range of experience in all forms of insurance and financial planning.
Rusty has been an independent broker for sixteen years. His specialty is meeting the insurance needs of senior citizens. Rusty has been with the Insurance Center of Durham for sixteen years. |
